"War is war" cried Snowball

Last week there was a conflict between Humans and Animals. Something you’ve never heard of before, “The Battle of Cowshed”. Animals found their way to victory, leaving humans in desperation. Snowball and Boxer fought with every atom of strength they had and were willing to do whatever they needed to win this battle. For this article, we also have the collaboration of Albert Rothenfort. He fought for Arihuanam´s civil rights and we want to know his point of view.

Mr. Rothenfort, we are pleased to have you here. What do you think about the attitude the animals are having against human race?

First of all, thank you very much for inviting me over. I sincerely think that what these animals are doing is absolutely great! They are fighting for what they want, they are making clear that they are not slaves and they want us, humans, to realize that they also want to have a good life.

So, you are saying that revolution is good?

When we need something and they don’t give it to us, we need to fight for it, just like I did. We need to talk, make other listen. If they don’t want to listen, why should we stay quite?

Would you give these animals any advice? Give advice to the leader?

I would tell them to keep on going. They need rights, they need to be heard, and they need what they want. There is no other way of getting it.

Boxer, the horse, was one of the heroes of the night. Tell us boxer…
How do you feel about killing a human?

Well, first of all I want to clear something up. I didn’t want to hurt him. I forgot I was using those silver shoes and everything went wrong. I sincerely apologize to his family. I don’t feel good about it, but as Snowball says “War is War” right?

You would do anything for you friends?

Everything I can. I mean, they have always been there for me and somehow I need to pay them back. I feel happy we won. I’m pretty sure that if we won once, we can do it again. And I won’t stop until I know we are the war winners.

Snowball has always been there with the animals. He tries to keep the peace between everyone in the farm. He controls everything that goes on in union with the pigs.
Snowball… Do you think that you had a good performance in the “Battle of Cowshed”?

Well I think we can do better. We can always do better. Next time we will, and it will be amazing. Humans will not want to come back here… EVER AGAIN!

That is great, any other comments?

No thanks. I don’t really enjoy making interviews. If you’ll excuse me… I have something important to do in the farm.

That’s all we have for now. No more information. We are pretty sure, the animals will win this war. They want it, the can.

Miss Jane ♥

  1. This is a creative and entertaining account of the battle, well done. Your choice of expert is clever, and you include some inventive and telling features of key characters such as Snowball and Boxer.

The report is written in the style of an oral news feature rather than a published article, and one of the requirements of the piece - a well-selected, captioned and cited image - is missing. Make sure you read and follow assignment instructions carefully for a high grade.

Language note: This is clearly hurried work. Your expression and use of English is very good, but the effect is spoiled by a number of careless spelling and grammar mistakes. Proofread and edit your work carefully in future.

  2. Your next post - describing Napoleon's use of power to control the animals - is missing. Please ensure you post it as soon as possible as missing assignments will affect your grade.
